Macrobiotus hufelandi C.A.S. Schultze 1984 View in CoL
Five individuals and one egg from the same MR sample (Table 3) were analyzed. Animal and egg morphologies corresponded with the original description for the species ( Bertolani & Rebecchi 1993). Three specimens showed ocular spots while two did not have these structures. Mean body size was 752 μm (SD 199), range 594 to 1078 μm. This species is considered cosmopolitan ( McInnes 1994). In the Iberian Peninsula, it has been recorded for Spain ( Heinis 1908; Rodríguez Roda 1946, 1949; Mihečič 1954, 1955; Lewin Osorio 1984; McInnes 1991), Andorra ( Lewin Osorio 1984) and Portugal ( Da Cunha 1941, 1943, 1944a, 1944b; Fontoura 1981, 1982; Maucci & Durante Pasa 1985).
