Stemonitis fusca Roth View in CoL
Represented by one specimen (31387), on canopy litter (pH 5.8). This specimen, as is often the case for material appearing in moist chamber cultures, appears to represent the variety nigrescens , which is sometimes recognized as the distinct species Stemonitis nigrescens Rex ( Martin & Alexopoulos 1969). Stemonitis fusca was first reported from New Zealand by Colenso (1887).
