Material examined. Stn. 1: 19.01.2008 —numerous fertile and sterile (both sexes) colonies, on Thalassia testudinum ; 25.01.2008 —numerous fertile and sterile (both sexes) colonies, on T. testudinum . Stn. 6: 23.03.2008 —a small, sterile colony, ca. 2 cm high, on algae. Stn. 7: 27.03.2008 —a small, sterile colony, ca. 5 mm high, on hard substrate.
Type locality. Baton-Mera, Ambon, Moluccas, Indonesia.
Remarks. This peculiar species is easily recognizable by the presence of numerous zooxanthellae in the coenosarc and the great number of tentacles occurring in several closely-set whorls. Nematocysts (undischarged): macrobasic euryteles (22.3–24.9) × (9.7–11.3) µm; heterotrichous microbasic euryteles (9.6–10.0) × (3.6–3.7) µm.
