Material examined. Stn. 2: 22.01.2008 —several fertile and sterile colonies, 2–4 mm high, on algae, stems of Pennaria disticha Goldfuss, 1820 and sponge; 26.01.2008 —several sterile colonies, 2–4 mm high, on algae ( MHNG INVE 60978). Stn. 3: 26.01.2008 —numerous small colonies, some with gonophores, on algae. Type locality. Herm, Channel Islands, Great Britain.
Remarks. For recent descriptions of this species, see Migotto (1996) and Schuchert (2006). Distribution. Circumglobal, absent from colder regions ( Peña Cantero & García Carrascosa 2002).
