Material examined. Stn. 7: 25.03.2008 —numerous colonies, up to 1.8 cm high, some fertile, on rock, ascidians, and various algae.
Type locality. Pacific Ocean, no exact locality given.
Remarks. For recent descriptions of S. marginata , see Calder (1991d) and Medel & Vervoort (1998). The life cycle of this medusoid-producing sertulariid was studied in detail by Migotto (1998).
Distribution. Circumglobal in tropical and subtropical seas ( Medel & Vervoort 1998). The Caribbean records are summarized by Calder & Kirkendale (2005).
