Remark. In the original description of Asura obsoleta Form alikangiae, Strand (1917) cited six specimens (five females and one male) from three localities (Kosempo, Alikang and Karapin), which are syntypes. Inoue (1988) upgraded this taxon to the species level and illustrated a female syntype. Here we designate this specimen ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 14–22 ) as lectotype and fix the species’ type locality as “Karapin” ( Taiwan, Chiayi County, Chaoliping).

Diagnosis. Forewing length is 10–11 mm in males and 11–14 mm in females. Huangilene alikangiae differs clearly from other congeners by its medial transverse line of forewing being nearly straight or slightly wavy, whereas in other Huangilene species that is strongly wavy. The male genital capsule of H. alikangiae is also characteristic due to the broad distal membranous lobe of valva having a dentate dorsal margin distally and the small lobes of anellus bearing very small denticles. The aedeagus vesica of H. alikangiae is characterized by the large dorsal medial diverticulum, and the narrow and elongate ventral medial diverticulum bearing a rather small cornutus. The female genitalia of H. alikangiae can be distinguished from those of other congeners by the large lateral protrusion of corpus bursae.

Distribution. Taiwan Island ( Daniel 1952, as Lyclene (Asura) undulosa , part; Inoue 1988; Chang 1989; Wang 1994).
