Genus Latonopsis Sars, 1888 View in CoL View at ENA

Another sidid, Latonopsis australis (Sars) s. str., originally described from Australia is definitively not present in Mexico. Instead this genus is now thought to include a group of species ( Korovchinsky 1992), with records all around the world, including tropical and temperate regions. Again, it is necessary to barcode specimens from different regions and from the type locality in Australia to establish the taxonomic status of Mexican populations.
