Socius with a hooked process near base on posterior margin, bearing two long setae laterally on base; distal part covered with 11̄12 scale-like setae ( Fig. 244 View FIGURES 233 – 244 ). Gnathos inflated distally, with seven long thick setae apically. Valva oval, with a clump of long setae in disc, similar setae in distal area. Saccus 1.6 times as long as width of valva, with distal 2/3 linear. Phallus about 8.0 times as long as width of valva, straight ( Fig. 188 View FIGURES 185 – 189 ). Diagnosis. This species is similar to A. (A.). angusta Moriuti, 1969 , but it can be distinguished by the forewing ratio of 4.0, and in the male genitalia by the socius covered with 11̄12 scale-like setae, the straight phallus, and the saccus 1.6 times as long as the width of the valva. In A. (A.) angusta the forewing ratio is 5.0, and the socius is covered with 6̄8 scale-like setae, the phallus is curved medially, and the saccus is as long as the width of the valva in the male genitalia.

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin latus, meaning wide, referring to the forewing being wider than that of its closest congener, A. (A.). angusta .
