Type locality: Uaupés , Amazonas, Brazil.
Holotype (misidentified as “ paratype ” of zikani by d’Andretta, 1951) male with labels: (1) printed with handwritten inscription on white paper: “S. [São] Gabriel | Rio Negro, | Amaz. [Amazonas] | 14; X; 1927 | J. F. Zikán [in vertical position]”; (2) printed on red paper: “PARATIPO”; (3) printed on white paper: “20.230”; (4) handwritten on white paper: “ Messiasia | zikani n.sp | d’Andretta 1951 ”; (5) printed on red paper: “HOLOTIPO”; (6) printed with handwritten inscription on white paper: “ Messiasia | uaupes , n. sp. | N. Papavero det”.
Preservation: Pinned; genitalia mounted on slides. Missing parts: right leg I, right tarsus of leg III and left leg III.
