Additional specimen examined: — AUSTRALIA: Tasmania, w/d, Gunn w/n [BPI 237189, type of A. rude (Berk.) Torrend (1920: 18) ].
Remarks: — Amauroderma intermedium is characterized by the dark brown to black pileus, context with two black lines and subglobose, finely ornamented basidiospores (9‒11 × 7‒9 μm). This species is currently considered a synonym of A. rude ; however, based on the analysis of the type of A. rude , on the characteristics described by Furtado (1981) and on geographic distribution, we preferred to keep these two taxa as distinct species.
