1. Frons at its narrowest point 1.3–1.4 times as wide as compound eye in dorsal view. Parafacial at its narrowest point 1.1–1.3 times as wide as width of postpedicel ( Figs. 1a–b View Fig , 2e–f View Fig ). Abdomen mainly reddish with a narrow median black vitta on syntergite 1+ 2 to tergite 5 ( Fig. 4a View Fig ) ......................................................... .......................................... E. haematodes (Villeneuve)

- Frons at its narrowest point 1.7–1.9 times as wide as compound eye in dorsal view. Parafacial at its narrowest point 2.0–2.3 times as wide as width of postpedicel ( Figs. 1c–d View Fig ; 2g –h View Fig ). Abdomen mainly black with dark red sides ( Fig. 4b View Fig ) in male, entirely black in female ....... E. horridus Cerretti , O’ Hara and Stireman, sp. nov.
