Type species. Alycaeus (Chamalycaeus) fruhstorferi Möllendorff, 1897 , by monotypy.
Diagnosis. Genus characterized by the combination of a spirally striated teleoconch, protoconch without spiral striae, and wide umbilicus (see Páll-Gergely et al. (2020) for extended diagnosis and taxonomic remarks).
