Diagnosis. This new species is similar to B. divulgata in the male genitalia, but it can be separated from the latter by the membrane above the proximal flange without setae, the juxta medially convex posteriorly but concave anteriorly, and the anellus bearing dense, cone-like setae from the basal 2/5 to the distal 1/5. In B. divulgata the membrane above the proximal flange bears dense setae on the ventral 1/3, the juxta is subparallel, and the anellus bears sparse, cone-like setae from the middle to the distal 1/3.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 4−13 ) forewing length 4.0– 5.5 mm. Head: Brown, usually becoming pale yellow in male by scales tipped with pale yellow. Antenna with scape brown on dorsal surface, often becoming pale yellow by scales tipped with pale yellow, yellowish white on ventral surface; pecten brown; flagellum dark brown, ciliated on ventral surface in male, first flagellomere dilated and notched in male. Labial palpus in male dark brown except some scales tipped with grayish yellow on outer surface, grayish yellow on inner surface; second segment inter- mixed with dark brown scales on inner surface, grayish yellow apically; third segment nearly as long as second, inner surface with a yellowish white crescent patch along dorsal margin, distal half grayish yellow and gradually narrowed to blunt apex. Labial palpus in female distinctly narrower than in male, dark brown, scales tipped with grayish white; second segment grayish white apically; third segment gradually narrowed from base to a pointed apex. Haustellum brown.
Thorax: Nota and tegula brown, scales tipped with grayish yellow. Forewing brown, scales tipped with grayish white, with grayish white tipped pale brown and pale gray scales from near base becoming denser to basal 1/3, with scattered dark brown scales on distal 2/3; costa with a dark brown rectangular spot at basal 1/3, extending to upper margin of cell; discal, discocellular, plical and tornal spots dark brown; plical spot touching inner margin of discal spot anteriorly, widened to dorsum posteriorly; marginal spots dark brown, ill-defined; fringe brown, intermixed with dark brown scales tipped with grayish white. Hindwing grayish brown at base, becoming darker to apex, yellowish brown mixed with dark brown scales below vein CuP; fringe brown. Legs with dorsal surface grayish white; ventral surface dark brown, part scales tipped with grayish white; all tibiae and tarsomeres grayish white at apex.
Abdomen: Male genitalia ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 18−20 ) with uncus wide at base, narrowed to basal 1/3, parallel-sided medially, gradually narrowed from distal 1/3 to rounded apex, slightly curved ventrad, sparsely setose. Gnathos with posterior margin produced and with two denticles medially. Dorsal part of valva with costal process gradually widened to rounded apex, uniformly extending ventrad from costa to proximal flange, with a sclerotized ridge extending from above costa to base of proximal flange along outer margin; proximal flange with ventro-apical corner rounded, membrane above proximal flange with dense microtrichiae. Ventral part of valva broad, sub-rectangular; apex oblique, flattened and setose, with a spine-like dorso-apical process curved inward; sacculus narrow at base, gradually widened to basal 1/5, then slightly narrowed to terminal, setose except basal 1/10. Juxta a transverse band, triangularly convex medially on posterior margin, triangularly concave medially on anterior margin. Vinculum a relatively wide band. Phallus nearly as long as valva, slightly curved, almost uniform from base to basal 3/5, gradually narrowed from basal 3/5 to apex; internal sclerite slightly curved; anellus bearing dense cone-like setae from basal 2/5 to distal 1/5. Female genitalia ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 27−30 ) with apophyses posteriores approximately 3 times length of apophyses anteriores. Eighth tergum with a darkly pigmented longitudinal median streak. Seventh tergum nearly straight on posterior margin, sternum slightly concave medially on posterior margin. Antrum membranous, funnel-shaped. Ductus bursae approximately 2 times length of corpus bursae; internal wall with overlapping platelets on anterior 2/5, becoming denser toward corpus bursae; ductus seminalis arising from ductus bursae proximal to antrum. Corpus bursae broadened to anterior 2/5, then gradually narrowed to rounded apex, with dense granules; signum arising from anterior 2/5 of corpus bursae, horn-shaped, with a sclerotized sub-triangular (from lateral view) basal plate.
Distribution. China (Hainan, Yunnan).
Etymology. The specific epithet of this species is a patronym for Dr. David Adamski, Research Associate, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C., who studies the taxonomy of the family Blastobasidae .
