Discussion. As explained above in the discussion of A. phreaticus , also of this species, syntypes (Angelier et al. mention numerous specimens, but without giving collecting site and date details) could be identified by their location in coll. Angelier together with other typical material from the study of Angelier et al. (1963). From a revision of measurements and proportions results that they obviously represent populations of A. spinipes in the sense of Gerecke (2003). No significant differences could be found that would justify considering A. fonticolus gallicus a a separate species.
