Genus Mayagueza Wheeler

Diagnosis (adapted from Wheeler, 1960). Frons and face extremely narrow, slightly more than the width of the lateral ocelli; margins parallel, with few minute setulae; anterior fronto-orbital bristle smaller, ca. half the size of other bristles on frons; all bristles, setae, and setulae yellow; lacking propleural bristle; ocellar setae very small, cruciate; postvertical setae small, ca. three times smaller than the inner vertical bristle; wing with dark pattern, encompassing crossveins dm–cu, bm–cu and distal half of cells r 4+5, r 2+3 and r 1; abdomen yellow with black spots on tergites III, IV and V; epandrium complex with inverted U-shape, entirely covered with microtrichia; surstylus almost fused with epandrium, with peg-presinsetae; ventral lobe of epandrium pointed or round; distiphallus with upward projection; postgonites almost fused, without setae; hypandrium Y-shaped.
