Figs 6 View FIGURE 6 A–H; 16A

Teudis lenis: Mello-Leitão, 1941: 203 View in CoL (male, MLP 15048, examined, misidentification).

Type material. Male holotype and female paratype from Porto Cercado (16°15'25"S; 56°37'22"W), Poconé , Mato Grosso, Brazil, 17–18.II.2010, L.D. Battirola leg., deposited in IBSP 165991 and 165990, respectively. Male and female paratypes from Parque Nacional Pilcomayo, Província Formosa, Buenos Aires: Argentina, XI.1990, M. Ramírez leg., deposited in MACN.

Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition taken from the type locality.

Diagnosis. Males of Xiruana pocone n. sp. resembles those of X. jaboticabal n. sp. by the palp with extremely long base of conductor of Anyphaeninae, distant from the ventral tegular process, but differs by the thin, small anterior branch of the retrolateral tibial apophysis, and conspicuous triangular median tibial apophysis ( Figs 6 View FIGURE 6 D– F). Females resemble those of X. tetraseta by the shape of the epigynal plate, but differ by the narrower median septum and internally with shorter copulatory ducts and fertilization ducts superposed to the spermathecae ( Figs 6 View FIGURE 6 G, H).

Description. Male (IBSP 165991). Coloration as in X. hirsuta . Total length 7.6, carapace length 3.2, width 2.5. Clypeus height 0.12. Palp: posterior branch of the retrolateral tibial apophysis long and curved at apex, anterior branch slender ( Figs 6 View FIGURE 6 D–F); median apophysis long and narrow ( Figs 6 View FIGURE 6 A–C). Abdomen: length 4.2, epigastric furrow 0.6 from tracheal spiracle, spiracle 2.4 from base of spinnerets.
