Bispira brunnea (Treadwell, 1917) View in CoL
Metalaonome brunnea Treadwell, 1917 ; Sabella bahamensis Augener, 1922 View in CoL ; Bispira brunnea Knight-Jones and Perkins, 1998 View in CoL ; Tovar-Hernández and Salazar-Vallejo, 2006.
Material examined. Several specimens on dead coral rubble at 7 m (sample CBC-KF 1011) ( PCZL).
Remarks. This is a gregarious species very common in the Caribbean, reaching about 30 mm in length, of which more than half is represented by the crown. The species seems to be confined to the West Indies and Caribbean. Good descriptions and figures are available in Knight-Jones and Perkins (1998) and Tovar- Hernández and Salazar-Vallejo (2006).
