Cryptolestes ferrugineus is newly recorded in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. It was reported from Newfoundland by Bousquet (1991). Th is cosmopolitan species is a serious pest of stored grain in Canada where it is found mainly in granaries, grain elevators, and mills ( Bousquet 1990).
