Centaurea pinardii Boissier (1844: 17) View in CoL . Type:— TURKEY. Caria, 1843, C. Pinard s.n. (holotype G-BOIS! (G00758121: three sheets comprising one specimen), isotypes FI012710!, G00223052!, G-DC! (G00223053: two sheets comprising one specimen), GOET008602!, M0031161!, P00703799!, P00703800!, P00703801!, P00703802!, WAG0004178!, W0044944!).

Distribution: — Cyanus pinardii is distributed in Uşak and Burdur, W and SW Turkey ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 ), and also in the Balkans ( Greece and Macedonia) ( Wagenitz 1975).

Selected specimens examined:— TURKEY. B2 Uşak: Kaía-gueul-Déré (Karayol De.), ca. 10 km SW of Ouchak (Uşak), 29 May 1857, Blanche 126 (G-BOIS: two sheets) .
