Urophora quadrifasciata sjumorum can be considered oligophagous as it attacked two genera of the Cardueae . It was reared from June to August, from Centaurea spp. and Carthamus tenuis , which is an unusual and new host for this species. In Asia, this subspecies is known from Turkey through to Pakistan ( White and Korneyev, 1989).
