The species is known from Belize, Honduras, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Paraguay, Argentina ( Metcalf 1963a; Duffels and van der Laan 1985; Sanborn 2006b). The species has been reported from Chocó, San José del Palmar-Río Abita ( Salazar Escobar 2005).
