The species has been recorded from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Central America and the Neotropical region ( Metcalf 1963a; Duffels and van der Laan 1985; Salazar Escobar 2005; Sanborn 2006b, 2007a,b). Cauca-Tal ( Jacobi 1907) and Valle, Río Garrapatas and Río Azul ( Salazar Escobar 2005) are the only literature reports for Colombia.
