Diagnosis: The shell is medium-sized, ovoid to broadly pear-shaped in dorsal view and flattened in profile, round aperture with a wide and rectangular posterior border; the spines are located over the entire surface, singly or in pairs; shell length 45-100µm; it differs from the typical form by the presence of spines of varying lengths from 6 to 20µm.
Distribution: India: Present record. Elsewhere: Cosmopolitan.
