Material examined. MKV: 2717 m: 19.II.2014, HP, 1 ♂.
Distribution. Sphodrus leucophthalmus has PAL_ORR_SAR distributional range. It is widely distributed across Europe (AM, AT, BE, BG, BY, CH, CY, CZ, DE, DK, ES, FI, FR, GB, GE, GR, HR, HU, IT, LV, NL, PL, PT, RO, RU, SE, SI, SK, UA), extending southward into North Africa (DZ, EG, LY, MA, TN), and southern and southwestern Asia (AE ( Gillett, 2009), AF, IN, IQ, SA, SY, TR, YE).
Life forms and Remarks. ZS(D)BT species. This species was reported from Baha Province by El-Hawagry et al. (2013) and the above records are new for Asir Province. The adult was collected under stones in the African pencil cedar forest at 2717 m in the immediate north village of Al-Makhad.
