Taxonomy. Nasillus gracilis Thomas, 1911 ,

“Chin-fu-san [= Mount]Jinfo],” near Nan-chwan (= Nanchuan), Chong- qing, China.

Recent molecular data clarified species delimitation and reappraised taxonomy of the genus Uropsilus in China. Uropsilus nwatus , U. atronates, and U. investigator were recently recognized as valid species, distinct from U. gracilis . At least two species are still not formally described. Accordingly, distribution of U. gracilis has been changed, now narrower than before. Previous reports of U. gracilis from Yunnan and northern Myanmar (= Burma) might represent U. nivatus, U. atronates, or U. investigator , and their taxonomic status needs clarification. Monotypic.

Distribution. C & SW China (Shaanxi, Sichuan, Chongqing, and Yunnan). View Figure
