Taxonomic note.
An ecological race of T. aristata without aristae mostly occurring in wet habitats.

Habitat.
Gravelly substrates at elevations 3000-4000 m a.s.l. A rare plant in Himalaya.
Phenology.
Flowering: July-September; fruiting: August-October.

General distribution.
Central Asia, alien and ephemerophyte in many temperate regions of Eurasia and North America. In some of the herbaria visited, the specimens from Xizang identified as Chenopodium aristatum (≡ Teloxys aristata ) indeed belong to Dysphania species, although its wider occurrence in this province has been predicted. There are no specimens from India, but the species could be found in some areas (especially in Jammu & Kashmir).
