Body elongate, strongy compressed, belly sharp; pectoral fin short. Mouth large, directed upward; both jaws with large canine teeth anteriorly. Scales cycloid very small. Color: dark bluegreen dorsally, silvery ventrally; black marking on the upper part of dorsal fin; caudal fin blackish.
