Type species: D. cephalata Cobb, 1933

The genus Desmodorella Cobb, 1933 differs from the other genera of family Desmodoridae by having body cuticle with ornamented annules with longitudinal rows of ridges or spines, a large rounded head capsule, large and multispiral amphideal fovea, and pharynx with a rounded or only slightly prolonged terminal bulb ( Verschelde et al. 1998; Tchesunov 2014).
