Figs. 1A –B, 2E, 3A

Halictus exiliceps Vachal 1903: 129 [Type series: Muséum National d’ Histoire Naturelle, Paris, France, ♀, type locality = Tokyo, Japan].

Lasioglossum (Lasioglossum) exiliceps: Pesenko 1986: 130 View in CoL [in key]; Ebmer 1996: 271 [Lectotype designated: Muséum National d’ Histoire Naturelle, Paris, France]; Sakagami & Tadauchi 1995: 187 –189 [♀♂, in a comparative notes of the description of L. ebmerianum Sakagami & Tadauchi, 1995 View in CoL ]; Pesenko 2006: 138 [in key], 146–147; Ebmer 2006: 549, 584– 585 [♂, photograph and illustration].

Diagnosis. This species is similar to L. eos Ebmer and L. leviventre (Pérez) from eastern Asia. It is separated from both species by the female metapostnotum dull with distinct tessellation among ridges ( Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3. A, B ) and the gonostylus of male genitalia acuminate ( Ebmer 2006, Fig. 12).

In contrast, the female metapostnotum in both L. eos and L. leviventre shiny without tessellation among ridges and the gonostylus elongate in L. eos and club-shaped in L. leviventre ( Ebmer 1978a, Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6. A, B in L. eos ; Ebmer 2006, Fig. 15 in L. leviventre ).
