Rediscovery of Hieracium garibaldianum View in CoL

In 2015, the second author visited the region of Napoli and made an excursion to Mount Vesuvius, where he collected a non-flowering rosette which he cultivated in his garden. It came into flower and seeded freely around the garden. When the second author came to Altenberg in September 2019 and heard that these nice flowering plants ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ) originated from Vesuvius, he immediately recalled the drawing of Fries. Some plants were pressed for further detailed studies.
