Diagnosis. The genus Hea Distant, 1906 can be separated from allied genera by a combination of the following characters: head short and broad, not narrower than mesonotal base; rostrum reaching mesocoxae; eyes projecting beyond anterior angles of pronotum; pronotum much longer than head but shorter than mesonotum; mesonotum (including cruciform elevation) much shorter than head and pronotum together; profemur with four spines, and apical one small; wings hyaline or opaque; forewing with 8 apical cells and hindwing with 6; abdomen slender, subequal to or longer than head, pronotum and mesonotum together; timbal cover absent, timbal entirely exposed; operculum small, rather short, not or just reaching anterior margin of abdominal sternite II, and not completely covering tympanal cavities.
