Notes:— Martínez-Gordillo et al. (2002) reported this species in Guatemala, although Standley & Steyermark (1949) did not mention it in their Flora of Guatemala. The species has often been misidentified as Acalypha schlechtendaliana View in CoL . After studying the type collections of Acalypha tamaulipasensis View in CoL , we did not find sufficient differences to distinguish it from A. longipes View in CoL .
