Notes:— The lectotype of Acalypha schlechtendaliana View in CoL (F.E. Leibold 238) was first described as Linostachys padifolia , a legitimate name in Linostachys but illegitimate in Acalypha View in CoL , being blocked by Acalypha padifolia Kunth View in CoL (in Humboldt et al. 1817: 97). Müller Argoviensis (1865) synonymized Schlechtendal’s species under Acalypha schlechtendaliana View in CoL . Martínez-Gordillo et al. (2002) reported this species from the Mexican States of Campeche, Puebla, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, Tabasco and Tamaulipas. Moreover, Standley (1923) cited it in Central America, from Guatemala to Costa Rica. As they did not indicate collections from these places, we could not confirm this information.
