Fore coxa with 1 spine, fore tibia with 5 external and 4 internal long spines on ventral surface, bearing 1 pair of short ventral apical spurs; tibial tympana open on both sides. Ventral surface of middle tibia with 4 inner and 5 outer long spines, bearing 1 pair of short ventral apical spurs. Genicular lobes of hind femur with apices rounded on both sides. Internal and external margins of hind tibia with 18–20 short spines on dorsal surface respectively, bearing 1 pair of dorsal apical spurs and 2 pairs of ventral apical spurs.

Abdomen. Tenth abdominal tergite with posterior margin concave, bearing 1 pair of relatively short posterior processes (Fig. 1C). Cercus long and moderately incurved, base stout, with a small lamellate projection proximally on inner margin of dorsal surface, possessing a lamellar extension on internal margin of ventral surface near middle area, apical half finger-like, moderately curved inwards and upwards, apex rounded (Fig. 1C–F). Basal margin of subgenital plate acutely concave, posterior margin with a concavity and 1 pair of slender and long lateral lobes (Fig. 1E). Styli comparatively short, conical and apices slightly acute, inserted on apices of lateral lobes of subgenital plate.

Coloration. Body light green. Unknown.

Specimens examined. Holotype: ♂, Mangshan, Yizhang, Hunan, 30 July, 2017. coll. Tao Wang. Paratypes: 1♂, Mangshan, Yizhang, Hunan, 30 July, 2017. coll. Tao Wang ; 1♂, Mangshan, Yizhang, Hunan, 23 July, 2023. coll. Chun Chen.

Measurements (mm). Body: ♂, 9–9.5; pronotum: ♂, 3.25–3.5; tegmen: ♂,12.9–15.1; hind femur: ♂, 7.6–8.2.

Discussion. This new species is similar to Xizicus (Eoxizicus) choui (Liu & Zhang, 2000), but it differs from the latter in the following: male cercus with a small subtrapezoidal projection on inner margin of dorsal surface near base, possessing a lamellar extension on internal margin of ventral surface near middle area; posterior margin of subgenital plate with a concavity and 1 pair of slender lateral lobes.

This new species also resembles Xizicus (Eoxizicus) taiwanensis Chang, Du & Shi, 2013, the difference is: the latter cercus is without a lamellar extension on internal margin of ventral surface near the middle area.

Etymology. The name of the new species is named for the type locality.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03BDFB79FFAEFFC27FCBA8F9FC2DFDD4	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite with a posterior process, base robust, apical half divided into two branches, which curved outwards. Cercus elongate, basal half cylindrical, possessing a small projection on internal margin of ventral surface near middle area; apical half compressed, and subapex slightly expanded dorsally, apex with a small notch. Styli conical and apices rounded, inserted on lateral margins of subgenital plate.

Female. Cercus short and conical. Basal margin of subgenital plate nearly straight, middle area slightly broad; posterior margin feebly concave. Ovipositor long and straight, basal area stout, slightly constricted near the middle, dorsal valvulae with apices acute and ventral ones with apices hook-shaped.

Material examined. 2♂, Chawanggu, Mangshan, Yizhang, Hunan, 20 August, 2018. coll. Liu & Zhang (2000) described this species based on a single male specimen (holotype: male; type locality: Qiongzhong, Hainan). Wang (2020) examined the type specimen and concluded that the holotype has a broken distal portion of subgenital plate, proposing Xizicus furcutu s Jiao & Shi, 2014 as a synonym of Xiphidiopsis (Euxiphidiopsis) quadridentata (Liu & Zhang, 2000) . Our team collected several specimens of this species from Mangshan, Hunan Province in 2018. This study describes the female of the species for the first time.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03BDFB79FFACFFC37FCBABA3FB3EF852	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite with a pair of subparallel, elongate posterior processes. Cercus long, basal half cylindrical; inner margin near middle area with a rectangular, depressed lobe; subapical area compressed, apical area distinctly incurved, apex bluntly rounded. Subgenital plate with basal half slightly broad, basal margin with a triangular concavity; posterior margin shallowly concave. Liu & Zhang (2000) described female subgenital plate with posterior margin truncate and without lateral carinae. Our team collected several specimens of this species in 2019, but the female differs markedly from the original description in: subgenital plate rectangular, longer than broad; the center area of subgenital plate bulging; posterior margin faintly concave. The original description of female may be error.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03BDFB79FFACFFC37FCBA8F9FB50FCB0	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
