Members of Tetralobinae (sensu Kundrata et al. 2018 and Douglas et al. 2021) include some of the largest click beetles ever reported (Costa et al. 1994).To date, the Tetralobinae fauna in India is represented by a single species, Tetralobus duchoni Schwarz, 1905 (Kubaczkova and Kundrata 2017) from Kohima, Nagaland (then Assam; Schwarz 1905). In this paper, we report S. perroti for the first time from India and provide images of adults and male genitalia. The specimens were compared with the type photographs as well as the original description. Recently, this species was reported by Qiu et al. (2020) from China (Tibet, Yunnan), Laos, and Myanmar.

For genitalia dissection, the specimens were relaxed overnight in a relaxation box and the genitalia capsule was pulled from the abdomen using forceps. The genitalia were dissected, rinsed with water, dehydrated in ethanol and preserved in a vial with glycerin. Morphological terminology used mainly follows Kundrata et al. (2018). General morphological characters were studied using a Leica stereo zoom microscope M205C and M205FA and imaging was done using a Leica MC 190HD and Leica EC 4 digital camera and with the help of a Sony DSC-HX400V digital camera. Adobe Photoshop 7 software was used for processing the images. Voucher specimens are deposited in the National Pusa Collection (NPC), Division of Entomology, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi, India. The size range of specimens collected from India varied from 53 to 64 mm, which is slightly longer (Figs. 1A, B) than the body length reported by Qiu et al. (2020), i.e., 43–60 mm. Male genitalia: Stout, phallobase basal margin nearly straight; paramere with lateral margin almost parallel along basal one-third of length, apex elongate-triangular, pointed; median lobe 0.9× shorter than the parameres, broader at base and gradually tapering toward round apex, basal strut long, reaching middle of phallobase (Figs. 1C, D).

154

Specimens Examined.
