Kim et Jung

(Figs 1–3)

Diagnosis. Pygofer lobes rectangular shaped, shorter than subgenital plates. Aedeagus slender enough to have gap between aedeagal shaft and subapical processes.

Description. Body mostly yellow with stripes on head and pronotum, brown markings on forewing restricted to distal half and abdomen mostly dark brown in male, yellow in female. Head slightly produced; width between eyes about 0.3 times shorter than length; eyes reddish, ocelli dark; head width including eyes slightly wider than pronotum. Pronotum ocherous yellow; posterior margin brown; anterior margin roundly convex. Scutellum wider than length; notch distinctly dark (Figs 1A–B, 3). Male genitalia. Pygofer lobe in lateral view rounded rectangular, longer than tall, with numerous long macrosetae; ventral processes curved vertically at inside and opposite each other, straight with tip of knife-shaped (Figs 1C–D). Anal tube extended over about one third of pygofer (Fig. 1C). Subgenital plate surpassing pygofer, and slightly shorter than anal tube in lateral (Fig. 1C); inner margin almost straight and lateral margin convex, with 8-10 macrosetae and numerous short hair-like setae on lateral margin (Fig. 1E). Valve as wide as long, triangular with rounded angles (Fig. 1E). Style slender; preapical lobe small and pointed; apophysis stout with blunt and somewhat flat apex (Fig. 1F). Connective elongate, three times longer than greatest width (Figs 1G–H). Aedeagus robust with two pairs of distal processes, apical and subapical processes; shaft in lateral view broad and slightly S-shaped; atrium and preatrium short; dorsal apodeme short; apical processes slender and extended basad to near apex of dorsal apodeme; subapical processes, short and narrow; gonopore ventroapical (Figs 1G–H). Female terminalia. Yellow with dark markings (Fig. 2A). Abdominal sternite VII about two times broader than long; side margin dark; posterior margin concave with flat M-shaped medial emargination and pair of submedial dark maculae (Figs 2A–B). Valvula I ramus convex; dorsal sculpturing area on apical two third with imbricated maculose pattern (Figs 2C & 2E). Valvulae II irregularly toothed on dorsal part; without medial teeth (Figs 2D & 2F). Gonoplac with short macrosetae posteroventrally (Fig. 2D).

Measurement (body length including wings). Males 6.0– 6.5 mm (n=9); females 6.2–6.7 mm (n=15).

Material examined. Holotype: [CNU] 1♂, Gung-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, Korea. 02.vi.2021. at Light trap (leg. E. Kim & J. Park) ; Paratypes: [CNU] 7 ♂♂, 15♀♀, same data as holotype; [NIBR] 1♂, same data as holotype .

Etymology. The species is named based on the relatively short, narrow aedeagal shaft.

Remarks. This new species is similar to Futasujinus dietrichi Zhang, Dai & Zhang 2014 in having a barely developed subapical process of the aedeagus, but it can be distinguished by the length of the pygofer lobes and width of the aedeagal shaft (Figs 1G–H).

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/9C592969FFCE7B3CFF0F0497FD9AFF6C	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
