F15D87CDCB3CFF9FFF3FFB25FC55F9FD.taxon	materials_examined	Material examined: New record: Montenegro: 1 ex. Njeguši vill. env. (42 ° 25.5015 ’ N, 18 ° 50.75 ’ E, 1170 m a. s. l.), 08.05.2014, A. Šíma leg. et coll. Notes: H. attenuatus is associated with the stumps of various pine species (Pinus spp.) (Pfeffer 1955). Its occurrence has been recorded in Dalmatia (Kleine 1913 b; Langhoffer 1921; Karaman 1971). Langhoffer (1921) also mentioned the locality of Krapina; however, the exact country is unclear, as villages with this name exist in Montenegro, Croatia, and Slovenia. This species is listed for two countries (Serbia and Montenegro, abbreviated as ‚ YU‘) in a checklist of bark beetles associated with Mediterranean conifers (Lieutier et al. 2016), although no specific records have been published. Interestingly, despite being a common bark beetle species, H. attenuatus is absent from the collection of Prof. S. Živojinović (Marković 2013).	en	Fiala, Tomáš, Holuša, Jaroslav (2025): First Records and Precise Documentation of Five Bark and Ambrosia Beetles (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae) in Albania and Montenegro. Šíma leg. et coll. Notes: P. curvidens infests the lower parts of the trunks of mature silver firs (Abies alba Mill.) (Pfeffer 1955). This species is so common in Croatia that it causes economic damage to fir stands (Pernek & Lacković 2011). P. curvidens is present in all countries of the former Yugoslavia (Karaman 1971) but has not been previously confirmed in Montenegro, although it is mentioned in a general FAO report on forest resource assessment (Jovic 2005). It is also listed for Serbia and Montenegro (abbreviated as ‚ YU‘) in a checklist of bark beetles inhabiting Mediterranean conifers (Lieutier et al. 2016). Interestingly, despite being a very common pest, P. curvidens was not found in the collection of Prof. Šíma leg. et coll. Notes: X. bispinus primarily develops on old man‘s beard (Clematis vitalba L.) (Fiala 2021). Its occurrence in Albania was first reported by Kleine (1913 b), but this record lacked detail and was not subsequently confirmed. Since then, X. bispinus has been documented in all countries of the former Yugoslavia as well as in Greece (Karaman 1971; Alonso-Zarazaga et al. 2023).	en	Fiala, Tomáš, Holuša, Jaroslav (2025): First Records and Precise Documentation of Five Bark and Ambrosia Beetles (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae) in Albania and Montenegro. Šíma leg. et coll. Notes: X. dryographus attacks mainly oaks (Quercus spp.) (Pfeffer 1955). Although Schedl (1971) reported X. dryographus as a first record for Albania, this information was overlooked and is not included in the Palaearctic catalogue (Alonso-Zarazaga et al. 2023). The specimen, collected during a 1961 expedition to Albania, is preserved at the Senckenberg Deutsches Entomologisches Institut in Müncheberg, Germany (Schedl 1971).	en	Fiala, Tomáš, Holuša, Jaroslav (2025): First Records and Precise Documentation of Five Bark and Ambrosia Beetles (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae) in Albania and Montenegro.
