Onukigallia matsumurai sp. nov.

(Figs 3, 8, 12, 23–32, 45–46)

Diagnosis. The new species differs from all other species of Onukigallia by the following characters: Pronotum (Figs 3, 8) with dark longitudinal stripe on median line joined to another stripe on mesonotum; pygofer (Fig. 24) with broad caudal lobe covered with stout setae, anal collar process spatulate with rounded apex; aedeagus (Figs 29, 30) V-shaped, in lateral view, without preatrium.

Description (holotype). Ground color yellowish to dark yellowish with dark markings. Vertex (Figs 3, 8) pale yellowish with two black maculae. Face (Figs 12, 23) pale yellowish with several black maculae: one dark longitudinal stripe on median line, one pair of black maculae between inner margin of ocelli, another pair of dark maculae under ocelli. Frontoclypeus pale yellowish with pair of longitudinal stripes on lateral margin. Anteclypeus brown to dark brown. Lorae and genae pale yellowish. Ocelli reddish brown. Pronotum (Figs 3, 8) fulvous with several maculae: one dark longitudinal stripe on median line joined to another stripe of mesonotum, one pair of black maculae closer to anterior margin, other pair of large dark maculae on posterior margin. Mesonotum (Fig. 3) white yellowish with basal triangles dark. Scutellum (Fig. 3) light yellow. Forewings (Fig. 8) dark yellowish with veins light yellow. Face longer than broad, about 1.1 times as long as wide. Ocelli closer to adjacent eyes than to each other (23: 21). Frontoclypeus narrow and elongate, lateral margin almost straight. Forewings with inner anteapical cell open behind (i.e. m-cu2 vein absent).

Male genitalia. Pygofer (Fig. 24) with broad caudal lobe covered with stout setae, anal collar process well developed, spatulate, with rounded apex. Subgenital plate, in lateral view narrow, rounded at apex, with six stout seta along ventral surface medially. Style (Figs 25, 26) in dorsal view, narrow, with forked apically process directed posteriorly. Connective (Figs 27, 28) of uniform width, in dorsal view. Aedeagus (Figs 29, 30) V-shaped, in lateral view; shaft of uniform width, narrow, in ventral view, without preatrium; dorsal apodeme well developed nearly 4/ 5 length of shaft, apex distinctly excavated; gonopore subapical.

Female. Similar in overall coloration to male, but lighter in color. Ovipositor (Fig. 32) slightly projecting beyond pygofer. Seventh sternite convexly produced, median projection slightly convex apically. First valvula (Fig. 45), in lateral view, dorsally curved medially, apex acute. Second valvula (Fig. 46), in lateral view, slightly curved dorsally, of uniform width except basal portion, dorsal hyaline area on subapical part, apex narrow then slightly acute.

Measurements. Male 5.5 mm long, head 1.7 mm wide across eyes, pronotum 1.5 mm wide. Female 6.2 mm long, head 1.8 mm wide across eyes, pronotum 1. 6 mm wide.

Material examined. HOLOTYPE: male, CHINA, Yunnan Prov., Mt. Gaoligongshan (27°27'N, 98°29'E), 1800 m, 5 May 2010, Zhang Bin; PARATYPE: 1 female, same data as holotype.

Host plant. Unidentified ferns.

Distribution. China (Yunnan).

Remarks. The new species is placed in the genus Onukigallia, based on: 1) vertex shorter in the middle than next to eyes; 2) face with lateral margins nearly straight; 3) frontoclypeus elongate with lateral margins almost straight; 4) lorum elongate and narrow; 5) forewing claval veins without cross vein; 6) male pygofer with broad caudal lobe covered with stout setae; 7) subgenital plates with row of stout seta along ventral surface medially.

Etymology. The species is named in honour of late Prof. S. Matsumura, well-known hemipterist.
