Types. Holotype ♂ (HNU–HN– IV–1759), CHINA, Hunan Prov.: ShaoyangCity, SuiningCo., ZhaishiTown, Tieshanlin Vill., Huangshan NNR, 26.37646°N, 110.10573°E, 1129 m, 26.X.2017, G.C. Zhou leg. Paratype: 1♂, with same data as for holotype (HNU–HN– IV–1759) .
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin adjective “latus” meaning “broad” and referring to the broad prolateral tibial apophysis in male palp.
Diagnosis. Oia lata sp. n. resembles O. breviprocessia and O. imadatei in having the similar thick, robust tibial dorsal spine (Figs 172A–D; Song & Li, 2010, figs 40–44; Lv et al. 2015, figs 2A–E), but can be distinguished by the tibia with three apophyses in O. lata sp. n. (Figs 172A–D; vs. with one tibial apophysis both in O. breviprocessia and O. imadatei).
Description. Male (holotype, Figs 173A, B): Total length: 1.37. Carapace 0.67 long, 0.49 wide, yellow, cephalic region elevated, ocular quad triangular, mid dorsally with 4 setae, cervical and radial grooves distinct Clypeus 0.14 high. Chelicerae with five promarginal and five retromarginal teeth. Sternum longer than wider, yellow with microsetae. Eyes:AER recurved, PER slightly recurved, wider than AER. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.02, ALE 0.04, PME 0.03, PLE 0.03, AME–AME 0.02, PME–PME 0.01, AME–ALE, 0.01, PME–PLE 0.02, AME–PME 0.05, ALE–ALE 0.13, PLE–PLE 0.14, ALE–PLE contiguous. Length of legs: I 1.65 (0.52, 0.57, 0.28, 0.28), II 1.59 (0.48, 0.53, 0.28, 0.30), III 1.26 (0.37, 0.41, 0.24, 0.24), IV 1.67 (0.53, 0.56, 0.32, 0.26). TmI present and TmIV absent. Tibial spine formula: 1-1-1-1. Opisthosoma 0.80 long, 0.53 wide, oval, dusky grey.
Palp(Figs172A–D):Femur unmodified,as long as both patella and tibia. Patella with the distal end broader than the proximal, almost equal to the collective length of tibia and cymbium. Tibia with one retrolateral and one dorsal trichobothria, with a long, dorsal thick spine, with curved pointed tip extending beyond the dorsal tibial apophysis; retrolateral tibial apophysis (RTA) wider than long, with round margin; dorsal tibial apophysis (DTA) somewhat triangular in dorsal view, prolateral tibial apophysis (PTA) triangular, gradually narrow towards tip; cymbium unmodified, globular in ventral view; paracymbium (PC) sclerotized, J-shaped, distal arm tip hook-shaped; tegulum (T) with a transparent protegulum (PT); distal suprategular apophysis (DSA) sclerotized, long, slightly curved, protruding above the apex of cymbium;. Tailpiece (TP) of embolic division prominent, wider than long, tongue-shaped in ventral view; median membrane (MM) with distal broad end, covered by the tailpiece in ventral view; embolus (E) sclerotized, long with pointed end.
Female. Unknown.
Distribution. Known only from the type locality (Hunan Province, Fig. 315).
