Types. Holotype ♂, CHINA, Hubei Prov.: Badong Co., Yanduhe Town, Songziyuan Vill., 31.35278°N, 110.39937°E, 1836 m, 27.IV.2016, W. Liu et al. leg.

Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the type locality; adjective.

Diagnosis. Taibaishanus badongensis sp. n. resembles T. elegans (Figs 238A–D; Tanasevitch 2006, figs 68–73), but can be distinguished by the protegulum bifurcated in T. badongensis sp. n. (Figs 238A, B, D; vs. not bifurcated); retrolateral tibial apophysis S-shaped with a small projection at the distal end in T. badongensis sp. n. (showed with white arrow, Fig. 238B; vs. absent); distal arm tip of paracymbium hook-shaped pointing towards the tibia in T. badongensis sp. n. (Fig. 238B; vs. hook-shaped pointing towards the subtegulum); retrolateral part of radix as wide as long at the center in T. badongensis sp. n. (Fig. 238A; vs. longer than wide).

Description. Male (holotype, Figs 239A, B): Total length: 2.35. Carapace: 1.11 long, 0.86 wide, yellow, cephalic region elevated, densely covered with macrosetae, cephalic pits absent, fovea, cervical and radial grooves distinct.Clypeus 0.20 high. Chelicerae with six promarginal and five retromarginal teeth. Sternum longer than wide, yellowish brown with dark lateral margin and microsetae. Eyes: AER recurved, PER straight, slightly wider than AER. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.04, ALE 0.07, PME 0.07, PLE 0.06, AME–AME 0.03, PME–PME 0.07, AME–ALE, 0.02, PME–PLE 0.04, AME–PME 0.06, ALE–ALE 0.32, PLE–PLE 0.34, ALE–PLE contiguous. Length of legs: I 3.46 (0.97, 1.14, 0.78, 0.57), II 3.10 (0.88, 1.03, 0.69, 0.50), III 2.62 (0.76, 0.85, 0.60, 0.41), IV 3.41 (0.95, 1.11, 0.84, 0.51). Tibial spine formula: 2-2-1-1. TmI 0.64 and TmIV 0.69. Opisthosoma 1.24 long, 0.78 wide, oval, dusky grey, with transverse black bands extending posteriorly; ventral side greyish black.

Palp (Figs 238A–D): Femur unmodified, almost longer than both patella and tibia. Patella shorter than tibia, ventrally grooved. Tibia with one retrolateral and one dorsal trichobothria, with two apophyses, retrolateral tibial apophysis (RTA) S-shaped, distal end ventrally with a small projection, prolateral margin with several thick spines; dorsal tibial apophysis (DTA) longer than wide with blunt end; cymbium unmodified; paracymbium (PC) U-shaped, distal arm tip hook-shaped; protegulum (PT) membranous, distal end bifurcated. Radix (R) V-shaped, retrolateral part as long as wide, with prolateral margin serrated. Embolic division (ED) hypertrophied, complex. Embolus (E) very long, sinuous, apical part S-shaped.

Female. Unknown.
