Acrorrhinium inexpectatum (Josifov, 1978)

Cinnamus inexpectatum Josifov, 1978: 279 (n. sp).

Diagnosis. Recognized by its large, robust body length 4–4.7 mm; pale or brown coloration of dorsum, with numerous irregularly shaped spots; a large dark red spot at base of cuneus; dark elongated stripe on endo- and exocorium at the level of median clavus; spiniform frons, with the apex anteriorly tapered and weakly curved; long labium reaching middle of abdominal segment; and the form of male genital structures (Fig. 3). Measurements. (♂) (n=3). Body length 4.10̄4.40; length from apex of tylus to cuneal fracture 3.60̄3.65; width of head across eyes 0.76̄0.80; width of vertex 0.28̄0.30; lengths of antennal segments ĪIV 0.70̄0.71, 1.65̄1.71, 1.10̄1.12, 1.0; length of labium 1.96̄2.00; mesal length of pronotum 0.59̄0.62; basal width of pronotum 1.09̄1.12; width across hemelytron 1.32̄1.40; length of metafemora, tibiae and tarsus 1.50̄1.58, 2.54̄2.60, 0.30̄0.32.

Distribution. China (North), Japan (Honshu, Kyushu), Korea (North, South), Russian Far East (Primorsky). (Duwal et al., 2016; Yasunaga & Takai, 2014; Yasunaga et al., 2016).

Biology. This hallodapine was observed to inhabit trunks and branches of several deciduous broadleaf trees (Kerzhner, 1988). In Japan both adults and last instar immature forms were found on the Sakura-cherry, Prunus yedoensis (Rosaceae) (Fig. 1 A). Acrorrhinium inexpectatum is assumed to be predaceous and have a univoltine life cycle.
