Synonymy: Crino sylvatica var. bellieri Schawerda, 1943 (Type locality: Corsica).

Diagnosis. Wingspan 45–47 mm. Head, thorax and abdomen dark blackish grey. Ground colour of forewing dark blackish grey. Wing pattern similar to that of the nominotypical subspecies. Hindwing dark brownish grey. The male genitalia (Fig. 80) very close to M. anilis anilis, but uncus slightly longer and juxta somewhat narrower. The female genitalia (Fig. 116) have no diagnostic features with regard to M. anilis anilis .
Distribution. Corsica and Sardinia.
