[ Thanatophilus ferrugatus (Solsky, 1874)]

Material examined. None.

Remarks. Species distributed in southern European parts of Russia, Iran and Central Asia (Růžička 2015). Özdemir & Sert (2008) reported this species from Turkey: Ankara. However, after comparison of their illustrations of the aedeagus with Schawaller (1981) and voucher specimens of T. ferrugatus and T. terminatus (Hummel, 1825) deposited in the collection of Jan Růžička, we conclude that Özdemir & Sert (2008) misidentified their material, which in fact belongs to T. terminatus . The same probably apply to a record of Altunsoy et al. (2017) from Eskişehir Province. Therefore, T. ferrugatus is deleted from the Turkish fauna.
