(1) The tribe Danielocandonini Karanovic, 2007

is not adopted here for the following reasons: (a) the genera included are morphologically very diverse, with some of the characters almost certainly being the result of convergent evolution and (b) the tribe stretches, with large geographical gaps, from the Caribbean realm (genus Danielocandona Broodbakker, 1983) to Africa (genus Meischcandona Karanovic, 2007) and Australia (genera Deminutiocandona Karanovic, 2003, Kencandona Karanovic, 2007 and Leicacandona Karanovic, 2007).
