? Rhampsinitus nubicolus Lawrence, 1963
Rhampsinitus nubicolus Lawrence, 1963: 303 –304, fig. 13a (type locality: Mariepskop Forest near Pilgrim’s Rest).
Material examined. 2 juveniles (MRAC 130.035) from „ Afrique du Sud, Distr. de Pilgrim’s Rest, Forêt de Mariepskop, dans humus, ZA.8”, collected in August 1966 by N. Leleup.
Remarks. The two juvenile specimens collected most probably belong to this species because (1) they were collected at the type locality, and (2) they show characters that conform to the original description: eye mound with three blunt tubercles on each eye ring; abdomen with broad dark saddle with zig-zag margins bordered by a narrow whitish edge; the sides mottled yellowish and brown.
Distribution. It is most probably a rare, local (endemic?) species, known only from the Mariepskop Forest near Pilgrim’s Rest (North Drakensberg Mts) in the Northern Province (Lawrence 1963).
