Etymology. joepani, a noun in the genitive case. Named after Pan Tshin Siong (born 5 th March 1950), an enthusiastic amateur naturalist and photographer of Odonata and other wildlife from Sabah, who uses the name Joe Pan for his social media posts concerning natural history.
