Tamdaora curvicerca sp. nov. Wang & Liu

Material: Holotype ♂, Zayu County, Xizang province, alt. 1900m, 2011. VII.7, leg. BI Wen-Xuan.

Description: Male. Body large built of this tribe (Fig. 43). Fastigium verticis conical and obtuse, dorsally furrowed (Figs. 44, 45). Compound eyes oval, globally protruding forward. Last segment apically expended longer than preceding segment of maxillary palpi (Fig. 46). Pronotum rhombic in dorsal view, lateral angle protruding, anterior edge flat but faintly curved, posterior edge rounded; metazona much shorter than prozona, gently elevated, with humeral sinus (Figs. 44–46). Wings well developed, far exceeding abdominal terminal, hind wings longer than tegmina (Fig. 43). Fore tibia spurs long in the type of 5, 6 (1, 1) on inner and outer ventral margins; hind tibiae with 19–22 spines on each dorsal margin, and 2 pairs of apical spurs. Posterior margin of 10th abdominal tergite flat but faintly convex (Fig. 47). Epiproct specialized with 3 pairs of lobes: upper pair upward, middle pair facing posteriorly and the lower pair downward (Figs. 47–50). Cerci long and thin, apex incurved, becoming geniculate protruding, apex lobate (Figs. 47, 48). Subgenital plate broad, posterior edge rounded, styli slender (Fig. 48). Concealed genitalia completely membranous.

Female unknown.

Coloration: Body yellowish (Fig. 43), maybe greenish in life. Dorsum of the rostrum and vertex darkish black, gradually light since vertex (Figs. 44, 45). Compound eyes darkish brown, antenna with sparse darkish rings.

Measurements (mm): Body ♂ 18.0; pronotum ♂ 4.5; tegmina ♂ 19.0; hind femora ♂ 14.5.

Diagnosis. This new species closely related to Tamdaora magnifica Gorochov, 1998, but pronotum without any stripes, epiproct with 3 pairs of lobes, apex of cerci incurved.

Etymology: The specific epithet comes from Latin ‘cercus’ with prefix ‘curvi-’, indicates curved cerci of the male.

Distribution: China (Xizang).
