(Figs. 4, 37–38)

Arpactophilus caledonicus Bohart, 1999: 98 [♀: holotype BPBM].

Diagnosis. Arpactophilus caledonicus is the only New Caledonian species in the genus with the combination of a forewing with one submarginal cell, a frontal carina present from median ocellus almost up to apical margin of clypeus, a dorsally-interrupted occipital carina (Fig. 6), a brown or blackish frons (Fig. 37), a transverse pattern of carinae with reticulae on the dorsal surface of propodeum (similar to pattern in Fig. 21) and yellow legs.

Remarks. Two poorly preserved specimens show the same characters, but have a mostly brown clypeus with only little yellow lateral markings. Both have slightly darker legs.
