Ptenidium (Peruvium sg. n.)

Type species of the subgenus Ptenidium gibbosum sp. n.

Distinguished from all other Ptenidium species by the globular female spermatheca and, with one exception, by the possession of small tufts of setae on the pronotal hind angles. In addition the pronotum does not bear noticeably larger punctures on the anterior or posterior borders and the aedeagi are distinctive in being broad near the tip and/ or having a more complex profile (Figs. 33–36).
