DISTRIBUTION: SW British Columbia (Canada), W Washington and Oregon to the Rogue River (USA).

SYNONYMS: cooperi Baird, 1855; hindei Gray, 1842; littoralis Elliot, 1903.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Neotamias . Formerly included ochrogenys, siskiyou and senex; see comments under those species.
